WHAT IS BULLYING?

Bullying is verbal and physical aggression that makes us feel disrespected. It doesn’t allow each individual to shine in their own unique way. Bullying can be gossiping, name calling, threats, intimidation, rumor spreading, or posting on a social network.

Anyone and everyone can take a stand against bullying.  Regardless of whether you have been a bully in the past, or have done nothing while someone else was bullied, you can make the choice to help instead of hurt.

WHY NOMINATE SOMEBODY?

Stand for Courage wants to reward you or someone you know for making the courageous choice to stand up for yourself or others.  All Stand for Courage moments will be recognized and celebrated.

WHAT CAN YOU WIN?

Stand for Courage Winners are eligible QUARTERLY for, and may receive:
• Concert tickets and backstage passes
• Time with an athlete or musician
• Tickets to a sports event
• A celebrity visit to your school
• A recognition ceremony
• Celebrity signed materials
• Cool Stand for Courage gear
• A feature on our website

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO BE NOMINATED?

Middle and High School aged youth in the Portland Oregon area are eligible to be nominated. Anyone can make a difference therefore anyone can win.

WHEN CAN I MAKE A NOMINATION FOR A STAND FOR COURAGE AWARD?

You may nominate ANYTIME.

Nominations will be reviewed in the Fall of 2012.

Winners are announced and awards are given four times a year. Finalists will be contacted prior to ceremonies.

HOW DO I NOMINATE MYSELF OR SOMEONE ELSE?

To nominate yourself or someone else, complete the nomination form (below) and submit it. Share your story or the Stand for Courage Moment you witnessed by completing the form. Contact information of both the nominee and nominator must be included.

NOW… TELL US WHO TOOK A STAND FOR COURAGE!

We invite you to nominate a person who has made the courageous choice to stand up for someone who is being bullied. SFC nominees are role models who have chosen to make a difference. Nominations can be submitted at any time. Nominations are reviewed by the SFC Committee and winners are awarded quarterly.
